Superiority of Ramadan

Muslims around the world will be observing Ramadan, the first day of the Islamic holy month of the same name, this weekend.Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking from dawn until sunset. Ramadan had been the name of the ninth month in Arabian culture long before the arrival of Islam. In the Qur'an it is said that "fasting has been written down (as obligatory) upon you, as it was upon those before you" which is a reference to the Jewish practice of fasting on Yom Kippur. Fasting is meant to teach the Muslim patience, modesty and spiritualRaRamaRamadan is a time for Muslims to fast for the sake of God and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramadan, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.

As compared to the solar calendar, the dates of Ramadan vary, moving backwards about ten days each year as it is a moving holiday depending on the moon. Ramadan was the month in which the first verses of the Qur'an were said to be revealed to the Islamic Prophet Muhammad. That was during a night that Muslims call Laylat al-Qadr (the night of decree or measures.) The night is believed to be one of the 10 last days of the month.

Ramadan ends with Eid ul-Fitr on the first of Shawwal, with much celebration and feasting.

The Rules of NAMAAZ(SALAAT)

When one wishes to perform Salat, he must be certain that no Shart or precondition of Salat is dropped. Therefore, full and exclusive attention is to be given to Allah, having in mind that “I am standing in front of Allah. He is looking at me.” Then being clean and purified we shall stand in a clean place and then with the intention of performing Salat rise two hands upto the neck and bind them over the navel saying ALLAHU AKBAR. Women are to bind hands over the chest. Niyyat or intention in mind is enough. But oral pronunciation is better.

Then we shall recite ‘Sana’. Then we shall recite Fatiha Sura after saying “Auzubillahi minash shaitanir rajim, bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.” We shall say ‘Amin’ in mind reciting Fatiha. And then shall recite a long verse of any Sura or small three verses, shall fo to ‘Ruku’ saying ALLAHU AKBAR. Shall recite “ Subhana Rabbial Azim” in the Ruku at least three times. And then stand straight saying “Samiallahu liman hamida.” And shall say “Rabbana lakl hamd” in that standing position, then shall go to Sijda saying ALLAHU AKBAR. Shall say at least three times “Subhana Rabbial A’ala” in the Sijda. Then shall sit straight saying ALLAHU AKBAR, and again shall fo to Sijda for the second times “Subhana Rabbial A’ala.” And then we shall stand up straight saying ALLAHU AKBAR. In this way we shall complete the first Rakat.

Now the second Rakat beings. We shall recite Sura Fatiha saying Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. And then add Sura like the first Rakat, then similar to the first Rakat shall sit straight after Ruku and Sijda. Being sitted, shall recite TAashahhud, Darud and Dua Masura and facing right side and left side shall say in both the side “Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah”. Thus the Salat having two Rakats will be completed.

Only Tashahhud is to be uttered after the second Rakat in the Farz of three Rakats. Then stand Straiggt saying Takbir, then saying Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim shall recite only Sura Fatiha adding no other Sura. And then perform Ruku and Sijda shall sit straight and after Tashahhud, Darud and Dua Masura say Salam to the right and left and complete the Salat.

In the four Rakat Farz Salat we shall only read the Tashahhud after second Rakat and then stand straight saying Takbir. And then recite only Fatiha after saying Bismillahir Rahman adding no other Sura. Then after Ruku and Sijda shall stand for the fourth Rakat. We shall recit only Sura Fatha and then, after Ruku and sinsda shall go to sit, read Tashahhud, Darud, Dua Masura and complete Salat saying Salam to the right and left. In the third and fourth Rakat also.

We shall be able to say the rules of performing Salat and we shall perform Salat correctly.

The Life of MUHAMMAD(SAW)

Before the birth of the great Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Saw), the people of this world forgot the laws imposed by Allah the ideals of the prophets and Rasuls. They were involved in all kinds of heinous misdeeds and crimes. Their behaviour was barbarous and against humanity. For that reason, the age was known as Ayyame jahiliyyat (the age of darkness). At that time, there was no security of life, property, reputation and privacy of people. Peace, discipline and regularity were altogether absent.

Genocide, terrorism, robbery, fighting, burying female child alive, gambling, drinding, taking interest, adultery etc. were the regular activities of the people of those days. Making hundreds of idols, worshipping them and praying to them for help were their religion. In the house of Kaba they established 360 idols. In a word, they were deeply involved in crimes and unrighteousness. In those extremely adverse days of the humanity of the world Almighty Allah sent His favorite friends, the greatest man of all ages, the blessings of the world (Rahamatulli-A’lameen), Hazrat Muhammad (Saw) as a herald of peace. He was sent to show the derailed and absent-minded people the right and just way.

Childhood

The great Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Saw) was born in 570 A.D. in the Quraish tribe in Arabia. His father’s name was Abdullah and his mother’s name was Amina. His father had died before he was born.

The child Muhammad was a true embodiment of justice. He sucked milk from one breast of his foster mother Halima and left the other for his foster-brother Abdullah. After rearing the child with motherly affection for five years, halima gave him back to his mother Amina. When he was six years old, his mother Amina died. Our beloved Prophet became orphan losing both his father and mother. Boyhood

Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Saw) was being brought up in the house of his grand-father Abdul Mutalib. But at the age of eight, he lost his grand-father too. Then he was being brought up under the affectionate care of his uncle Abu Talib. Young Muhammad (Saw) was active. He did not like to live the life of a parasite of anyone. He helped the insolvent family of AbuTalib In many ways. For extra earnings he tended sheep. He was an ideal to the ahapherd boys. He always kept good relationship with the pther shepherds. Once he went to Syria for business with his uncle. On the way, they met a clearly boy and predicted that he would be the Prophet of the last era of the world.

After returning from Syria the boy Muhammad (Saw) observed the horror of the battle of fijar. That fight took place in a forbidden month. Not only that the Qais tribe imposed the war on the Quraish illegally. So it was called Harbul Fijar or illegal war. That war continued for five years. In it, Muhammad (Saw) did not take part directly, but he saw its horrible atrocities. At this, he got terrible shock. He became restless hearing the groan of the wounded. The man, who would be the pioneer of the peaceful religion Islam, could not tolerate that unrest. So, uniting the peace-loving enthusiastic youths, he formed ‘Hilful Fuzul’ (Shanti Sangha). Nursing the sick, preventing the oppressors, helping the o[[ressed, establishing peace and order and maintaining peace among the tribes were the functions of that peace organization (Shanti Sangha).

It is really astonishing that the united nations of the modern world is indebted to that youth organization “Hilful Fuzul”. But the difference is that while the youth organization could sincerely materialize their policies, the U.N.O. of today cannot do so.

Being moved at his manners and behaviour, Ama’natdari, truthfulness etc. the Arabs called him, ‘Al-Amin’ (trustworthy). After he become the Prophet, even those who were his deadly enemies could never say that he was a liar or untrustworthy. Hearing about the young Prophet Muhammad’s (Saw) honesty, truthfulness and decent character, Khadija (R), a wealthy and educated widow of Makka, entrusted him with the responsibility of her own business. Taking the respectation. While conducting the business of Khadija, Hazrat Muhammad (Saw) established such an instance of honesty as it was an ideal for the youths of all ages. On that journey, to observe and test the character of the Prophet Muhammad (Saw), Khadija sent with him (the Prophet) her reliable employee Mysara.

Being moved with the report of Mysara about honesty, reliability and activeness of Prophet Mohammad (Saw) Khadija (R) proposed to him for marriage. Taking the consent of his uncle, Abu Talib, he married Khadija. At that time he was twenty five years old and Khadeja was forty. After the marrage Prophet Muhammad (Saw) become the owner of huge property because of the curtesy and cordiality of Khadija (R). but not having spent that wealth for his own pomp and comfort, he spent it for the benefit and service of the distressed and sick people. When the tribes were about to quarrel among themselves for getting the rare honour of placing the Hajre-Aswad in the house of Ka’ba, it was decided that they would abide by the decision of that person who would enter the house of Ka’ba first in the next morning. In the next morning when the Prophet Muhammad (Saw) entered the house of Ka’ba before others, everybody cried out in one voice. “Look there, the Al-Amin has come, we are all pleased with him, we also trust him”. Nobody gave any objection in hos case. He settled the quarrel peacefully by his prudence. Thus they escaped an inevitable bloodshed.

Peace and order is established if neutrality is maintained in settling disputes. Thus so many inevitable conflicts can avoided.

Attainment of the Nabuwat

One night while Prophet Muhammad (Saw) was in meditation, jibrail (A) came to him with Wahy (a message from Allah), and he attained the Nabuwat. At that time, he was forty years old. Returning home he told Khadija (R): “cover me with clothes. Cover me with clothes”. He disclosed everything to khadija (R) and said : “I am afraid of losing my life.” Then Khadija (R) consoled him by saying: “No, this cannot be. I swear by the name of allah that He will never put you to disgrace. Because you behave well with your kith and kin, you manage food, clothing and lodging for the distressed and the weak. You enable the destitute and the people in want to earn their living. You serve the guests and help people in the time natural calamities.” From this statement of Khadija (R) it is clear that Prophet Muhammad (Saw) exercised with deep sincerity and devotion the excellent human virtues and engaged himself in the service of humanity before Nabuwat.

Invitation to Iman

According to the dictates of Allah, Prophet Muhammad (Saw) at first began to invite his near relative to have Iman (faith) in Allah. At first Prophet Muhammad (Sm) secretly invited people to Islam. After that when Allah ordered him to invite people popenly to Islam, he began to do so. At that, the idolators began to oppose him. They troured him in various ways. When they tired to tempt him with leadership and wealth, he said: “if you gave me the sun in one hand and the moon in another, yet nothing will dissuade me from preaching this truth, remarkable sacrifice, firmness and restraint became prominent.

The death of Khadija (R) and Abu Talib

In the tenth year of his Nabuwat, Prophet Muhammad (Saw) lost his beloved wife and affectionate uncle. So he become overwhelmed with grief. Inspite of his intolerable sorrows and pain and a lot of troures in the hands of the kafirs, he continued preaching the religion. He then went to taif to invite the Kafirs, he continued preaching the religion. He then went to Taif to invite the people there to accept ZDeen Islam. The people of that place did not accept Islam, rather they made his holy boky bloody by pelting him with stones. Even in that tense moment Prophet Muhammad (Saw) did not curse the people of Taif. He begged pardon for them to Almighty Allah. Nowhere such an instance of forgiveness can be found in the history of the world.

When the Prophet (Saw) was suffering from unbounded sorrows and pain because of unlimited tortures given by the Kafirs of Makka and the ill-treatment of the inhabitants of Taif, Almighty Allah took him close to Him. He went to Mi’raj. In that Mi’raj he was thankful getting chance to go to the nearness of Allah.

Hijrat

Because of the extreme hostility of the Quraish of Makka the act of preching and the spreading of Islam were hindered. Then according to the instruction of Allah, the Prophet (Saw) decided to migrate (Hizrat) from Makka to Madina. When the kafirs of Makka saw that the Muslims were leaving Makka one by one making Makka empty of the Muslims they thought that the Prophet (Saw) would also leaving the country as soon he got a chance. So, all the tribes unitedly decided to kill him. According to the decision,
One night they surrounded the house of the Prophet (Saw). They were waiting to kill him every carly in the morning. But dueto the miraculous power of Allah, the Prophet (Sm) accompanied by Abu Badr (R) managed to befool them and started for Madina. To repay the Ama’nats (the property in his custody) he kept Hazrat Ali (R) in his house. Entering into the room of the Prophet (Saw) when the kafirs saw Hazrat Ali (R) lying on the bed, they became very furious. But they left ashamed seeing the trustworthiness as a custodian (Ama’natdari) of the Prophet (Saw). They could not think that the enemy, whom they were try to kill, was so great and generous. After going a little distance, the Prophet (Saw) and Abu Bakar siddiq (R) took shelter in a cave of the mountain Sawor of Makka. The Kafirs were looking for them. They almost came near the mouth of cave Abu Bakar (R) became a bit worried. The Prophet (Saw) said: “Abu Bakar, don’t worry. Allah is with us.” The Prophet (Saw) had profound confidence and faith in Allah. In all activities of life, he relied on the mercy of Allah. Almighty Allah saved him if there was any danger.

The Prophet (Saw) reached Madina on the 24th September, 622 A.D by migration (Hizrat). All sorts of people, both young and old, accepted the Prophet (Saw) with earnest eagerness and love. Their joy knew no bounds. Being happy at the Prophet’s coming in their midst, the girls of Madina sang:

Tala’al Badru Alaina………………

“Behold, the moon is there
On the outskirts of the sky,
The burn of it has spread over
The whole world we ply.”

Coming to Madina,Prophet Muhammad (Saw) sigged the sigh of relief. He bound the muhajirs and the ansars with the tie of fratermity. If the Muslims of the present time come forward to help their distressed Muslim brothers giveng up the destructive actions of killing them, the Muslim world would become the abode of peace and prosperity even today.

what is zakat(zakah) and how calculate it?

One of the most important principles of Islam is that all things belong to God, and that wealth is therefore held by human beings in trust.

The word Zakat means both 'purification' and 'growth'. Our possessions are purified by setting aside a proportion for those in need, and, like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth.

Zakat is the amount of money that every adult, mentally stable, free, and financially able Muslim, male and female, has to pay to support specific categories people.
Zakat is obligatory when a certain amount of money, called the nisab is reached or exceeded. Zakat is not obligatory if the amount owned is less than this nisab. The nisab (or minimum amount) of gold and golden currency is 20 mithqal, this is approximately 85 grams of pure gold. One mithqal is approximately 4.25 grams. The nisab of silver and silver currency is 200 dirhams, which is approximately 595 grams of pure silver. The nisab of other kinds of money and currency is to be scaled to that of gold, 85 grams of pure gold. This means that the nisab of money is the price of 85 grams of 999-type (pure) gold, on the day in which Zakat is paid.
When is Zakat Due ?

1. Passage of One Lunar Year:
Zakat is obligatory after a time span of one lunar year passes with the money in the control of it's owner. Then the owner needs to pay 2.5% (or 1/40) of the money as Zakat. (A lunar year is approximately 355 days).
2. Deduction of Debts:
The owner should deduct any amount of money he or she borrowed from others; then check if the rest reaches the necessary nisab, then pays Zakat for it.
If the owner had enough money to satisfy the nisab at the beginning of the year, then the money increased (in profits, salaries, inheritance, grants...etc.), the owner needs to add the increase to the nisab amount owned at the beginning of the year; then pay Zakat, 2.5%, of the total at the end of the lunar year. (there are small differences in the fiqh schools here)
Each Muslim calculates his or her own Zakat individually. For most purposes this involves the payment each year of two and a half percent of one's capital.

The benifits of attending the Khutbah

Etiquettes of Jummah and Attending the Khutbah

O ye who believe! When the call is proclaimed to prayer on Friday (the Day of Assembly), hasten earnestly to the Remembrance of Allah, and leave off business (and traffic): That is best for you if ye but knew!  (62:9)
Coming to Jummah is and should be a priority for each and every one of us. Whether we have work, class or other things, try your best to see how to accommodate around it. Most of the time it will work.  Don’t give yourself any excuses.
The Prophet (SAW) said, “The five daily prayers, and praying one Friday prayer and the next, and the fasting of Ramadan, result in the expiation of the sins committed between them, so long as major sins are avoided.” This does not, however, mean that the Muslims should come to the Masjid only on Fridays, neglecting it at other times. This does not mean either that Muslims should indulge in sins at will, thinking that they will be forgiven anyhow.

Now let’s talk about some etiquette:

Coming early

Rasulallah (Pbuh) said: “On the day of Jummah, the angels stand at the entrance of that Masjid in which Jummah salaat is to be offered. They write down the name of the person who enters the Masjid first, and thereafter the name of the person who follows, and they continue doing this. The person who entered first will receive the reward of sacrificing a camel in the path of Allah; the one who followed him will get the reward of sacrificing a cow, thereafter a chicken, thereafter the reward of giving an egg as charity in the path of Allah. Once the khutbah commences, the angels close the register and begin listening to the khutbah. “ (Bukhari and Muslim)  This should encourage us to go early to the Masjid on Friday for salat.  All of us go early to the marketplace to trade. Why then do we not do the same with Friday prayers, which benefit our salvation and help us to attain paradise? Abu Talib Al-Macci said, “The first innovation (bida’ah) in Islam was not going early to the Masjid on Fridays.” Ghazali adds, “Why do Muslims not feel ashamed that the Jews and Christians go early for worship on Saturdays and Sundays?”

Cleaning up

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Umar:  Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "Anyone of you attending the Friday (prayers) should take a bath."  Narrated Abu Said: I testify that Allah's Apostle said, "The taking of a bath on Friday is compulsory for every male Muslim who has attained the age of puberty and (also) the cleaning of his teeth with Siwak, and the using of perfume if it is available”  (Bukhari

Arriving on Time

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "When it is a Friday, the angels stand at the gate of the mosque and keep on writing the names of the persons coming to the mosque in succession according to their arrivals. The example of the one who enters the mosque in the earliest hour is that of one offering a camel (in sacrifice). The one coming next is like one offering a cow and then a ram and then a chicken and then an egg respectively. When the Imam comes out (for Jumua prayer) they (i.e. angels) fold their papers and listen to the Khutba."  Prophet SAW forbade people from going over worshippers’ shoulders when trying to reach the front rows; and forbade us from interrupting prayers in any form. He also asked us to sit in the front-most rows to show the intention of sincerity, the need for knowledge, and show humility for Allah.  Coming to khutbah early will help us avoid this situation and earn the extra rewards.

Going to Prayer calmly

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Apostles (p.b.u.h) saying, "If the prayer started do not run for it but just walk for it calmly and pray whatever you get, and complete whatever is missed".  So in case you are running late do NOT rush and create distraction for others by running into the prayer.

Praying 2 Rakats

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah: A person entered the mosque while the Prophet was delivering the Khutba on a Friday. The Prophet said to him, "Have you prayed?" The man replied in the negative. The Prophet said, "Get up and pray two Rakat."  It’s best to come early and pray 2 rakat allowing you to enter a state of worship and attentiveness.

Listen attentively

Concentrating and internalizing the message of the khutbah for this is the entire purpose of the gathering.   Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) said, "When the Imam is delivering the Khutba, and you ask your companion to keep quiet and listen, then no doubt you have done an evil act."  So even talking to others to make them quite is not allowed showing you the importance of paying attention and listening to the khatib.  Not playing with the carpet or its designs or text messaging or checking the internet on the phones. Any distraction as small as this can nullify your prayer.  Knowing that the khutbah is part of the prayer and so respecting it the same way one respects their conversation with Allah.

Meet and Greet

Your asked to stand with one another. Shoulder to shoulder and feet to feet. Symbolically bringing you together to people you may or may not know. Greet them after prayers. Get to know them and invite them to attend in the future.

Reflection and Introspection

Reinforcement of message, many things you might already know, but as you hear them again the messages are reinforced and refreshed in your memory.  Secondly it’s a time to weekly recalibrate yourself. If you learnt something this week, and you apply it then assess where you stand the week after. After hearing Allah’s message it should recalibrate you to everything your doing.  Third, share and discuss the positive things you have learnt with family and friends. This will make you remember what you learnt but you will receive ajar for sharing it with others.

Make Du'aa

At the time the Imaam sits in the middle of the khutbah. For it may be then special time of Friday and one should not miss this time in which du'aa is accepted.

Recite Surat Al-Kahf

It is very rewarding to recite Surat Al-Kahf on Fridays before the salat. The Prophet (SAW) said, “Whoever reads Surat Al-Kahf on Fridays, there will be a bright light to shine for him between the two Fridays.”

Dear Brothers and Sisters Assalamu Alaikkum
All praise is for Allah. We praise Him and seek His help and His forgiveness and we believe in Him and rely on Him. We seek refuge with Allah from the evils of ourselves and the vices of our deeds. There is no one to misguide whom Allah guides and there is no one to guide whom Allah lets go astray. We are building a Mosque (Husaini Masjid) in our location a small village under the postage of Manpur, Pehani Gaya (INDIA).
Every Muslim is aware of the position of a mosque in Islamic Society. When the prophet Rasoolullah(S.A.W) arrived in Madinah, the first act he performed was the building of a mosque. This indicates the importance of a mosque in Islam. All acts of worship (ibadah) in Islam are for the purification of the soul, refinement of morals, and strengthening the ties of mutual cooperation among the Muslims. The congregational prayers and the Friday and Eid prayers are strong examples of the nature of the Muslim community and in the unity of their opinions, goals and cooperation in achieving righteousness and in fearing Allah.
We believe it is truly amazing how little it can collectively cost to provide a community with a much needed place of worship, and that the opportunity to help provide this is a real blessing from Allah. Help us establish an Islamic educational centre for ourselves, our children and future Muslims of Manpur, Gaya(INDIA).
We were collecting and fund rising with many sources like door to door campaign, out door campaign, email forward system, online donation facilities etc. and we are feeling so happy to share with you that our goal to build a masjid has achieved a new look. The roof foundation and wall constructions have been completed. We offer our heartfelt and sincere congratulation to our volunteers. Donors and supporters for achieve this markable milestone to benifits our children and next generation to come. We also extend our gratitude to each and every one of you from all over the world who has and continue to support this project to transform this masjid in to a center of excelence focused on the pillar of faith.
So now we are launch a new project . We are facing a power cut problem in our masjid. As we know in gaya there the temprature reach so high(46 degree aprox) in summer season. And the power cut is a big problem. So a inverter with battary are must for power cut sollution. You can donate your zakaat or sadkah to be a part of masjid construction.
